Oprah’s had her favorite things. Now EnviroMedia Social Marketing, which specializes in public education campaigns for environment and public health issues, is releasing its list of favorites. To celebrate 13 years of promoting a more sustainable society, EnviroMedia is endorsing products that, in ways big and small, can help lessen climate change and promote a greener lifestyle.
These green goodies ranges from $21,000 (the Ford Escape hybrid) down to $5.99 (The Five-Minute Shower Timer). The products were chosen by EnviroMedia staffers, who own and love them. Some are low-tech, some are high-tech, some are new-fangled, and some are old standbys, but they all can help people keep the planet in mind.

Two of my favorites are similar to above suggestions.
If you love the KillAWatt and the Five Minute Shower Timer, you might also enjoy Green Goose, http://www.greengoose.com, a product and service started by a friend of mine, that tracks energy savings by using a little green egg to assess energy use. Green Goose aims to encourage behavior change by showing you the dollar savings from your conservation efforts and enabling you to immediately invest in a “nest egg”! A way to be green and save green. I have tried the tool, and its a fun way to encourage conservation.
I also love Living Homes, http://www.livinghomes.net, beautifully designed higher-end prefab homes also run by a friend of mine. Like Jovana’s suggestion for the low impact woodland home, a Living Home aims to be just that: living. Living Homes strive to provide a healthier place to live. Steve Glenn, the CEO of the company, believes so much in their product that he lives in one of the Living Homes!
Jessica Repa, Conservation Marketing Director at EnviroMedia
How is a water bottle made from triton green? It’s still plastic, still doesn’t biodegrade, still does photodegrade and still ends up floating in the great pacific garbage continent where it kills fish, wildlife and people.
And there are no physilities currently in place to recycle this new copolymer– none.
