Dec13.09; Well worth the time spent to view this presentation. Put forth in an easily understood format ideal for a climate novice such as I

Climate has changed for millennia and will continue to change....,but we are not sure in what direction and what is the governing mechanism. COP15, United Nations, and present U.S. Government are poised to allocate huge resources on the premise that world will warm up.....They are proposing to transfer huge wealth from developed countries to China and undeveloped countries. I doubt they grasp the economic consequences ...Euphemisms and one-liners are tossed about in the media like so many snow flakes..

Your explanation of cap and trade begs a few questions. Why do we want two glasses full of pollution when we could have just one and a half? And just where does that trillion dollars go? To wall street to make rich people richer?
Why not just put a cap on emissions, and have massive fines or taxes for corporations that pollute beyond the limit?

These are great explanations about the language of climate change. The climate talks in Copenhagen will have an impact on the environment but also on the economy and technology. The Green Detectives' explanation of cap and trade is simple and entertaining, especially the cap and trade video. I love the use of pint glasses full of "yuck" to show how some companies may need to buy more rights to pollute yet others may gain by selling leftover emissions. Simple and smart!
